Celebrating Wednesday's #6

Hello again and thank you so much for joining us for another Wednesday offering. This week is a particularly cute one, well I think so, you may not agree, but I have a sneaking suspicion you will.

Today we are celebrating...Monkey Day!

Did somebody say 'Monkey Day?'

I've been looking forward to this one for a few weeks now. Just look at that little face, who could fail to fall in love with such a pretty little ball of fluff...well I say that, they're not nearly so adorable when they show their teeth, in fact, they're rather terrifying.

From having a read through various sites, I have discovered that this is an unofficial day that came into being back in the year 2000 when an art student at Michigan State University thought it would be funny to write 'Monkey Day' on his mate's calendar. He and other students then went on to celebrate the day and included it in much of their artwork. So from a student prank, we have a fabulously fun day to celebrate these gorgeous, endearing, cheeky and fun little primates.

I'll be partying in the kitchen to celebrate Monkey Day!

So what will you do for Monkey Day? You could throw a monkey themed party for your own little monkeys (or children as they are more commonly known), you could visit a zoo or wildlife park to visit the real monkeys and learn a bit more about them, or maybe you could sponsor a monkey. If you fancy adopting one, why not take a peek at Wild Futures website.

Remember, Christmas is almost here, so a monkey adoption could make someone a great present.

Hmmm I think I know someone who would love a monkey adoption  pack for Christmas.

I hope you've enjoyed looking at all of these cute monkeys and don't forget, be a wise monkey and celebrate safely and sensibly.
