Blue Monday
How are you feeling today? I'm feeling rather happy and may even have a bit of a spring in my step. However, it would seem that today, many people are not happy because today is the most depressing day of the year, apparently. Today is Blue Monday.
So if you are feeling a little blue because you're under the weather, or the weather is just too cold and grey; if you're trying to shift those extra, post Christmas pounds, or your pounds sterling have taken a battering now the credit card bills have landed with a thud on the door mat, here are a few good blue things to hopefully cheer you up a little.
Ladies and gentleman, I present to you my take on Blue Monday.
First off, one we are all longing to see, a beautiful blue sky. There really is nothing quite like a clear blue sky to cheer you up. It really does give you a whole new outlook on life when the sky is blue and the sun is shining down on you, giving you a nice boost of vitamin D. What could be better?
Well, perhaps a clear blue sky, a sandy beach an ocean so clear and blue you can see the sand beneath you as you swim about in it. Who wouldn't want to sit on this beach or dive into that sea? I don't know about you, but I already feel warmer and more relaxed than ever, just looking at the photo! Note to self, sort out a holiday soon.
A bit closer to home and more immediately achievable, is everyone's favourite piece of comfort clothing...your blue jeans. Is it just me or do other people have a favourite pair of jeans? I have so many pairs of jeans, but when I put on my favourite ones, I feel different, happier and more content. Maybe, they are a sort of comfort blanket for me, or perhaps I am just a little crazy, bonkers (in a good way).
And let's not forget how beautiful blue feathers can look. I'll admit, I am not a fan of peacocks following two separate incidents as a small child where I was squawked at by the grumpy things, but even I can't deny how stunning they are with their vivid blue bodies and heads; and provided they don't come too close to me, I find them rather fascinating.
Finally, on this chilly Monday morning, why not take a few minutes to pop the kettle on and treat yourself to a nice warming, comforting tea or coffee.
If you are feeling a little blue today, I do hope my 'blue' things have helped lift you just a wee bit and I hope the rest of the week is kind to you.
