Celebrating Wednesday's #14

Hello everyone, thank you so much for coming back each week. It seems almost crazy that we are already celebrating the second Wednesday of February. Also, because we are in February and I care about you all, and don't want you to get into trouble, don't forget next Tuesday is Valentine's Day. If you are planning on celebrating, best get organised this week. Anyway, back to Wednesday.

To celebrate the middle of the week why not (weather permitting) try this little past time. Yes this week could see you taking up a new hobby, or reliving childhood memories, because today we are celebrating...

...Kite Flying Day!

So, wind allowing, why not grab yourself a kite (if you're really crafty you could even make one), hold on tight and let it fly...unless, of course you are like myself, in which case, good luck getting your kite off the ground at all.

I remember kites being quite a big thing when I was growing up in the seventies. We'd make our own kites or we'd buy plastic kites and off we would go. One person, holding on to the string, the other running like mad and getting ready to throw the kite in the air. Both anticipating a scene like the one above. Did it ever happen? No, it really didn't, well not for us anyway. Never did my friends and I ever manage to get our kites to fly. Not that it put us off though, we still kept trying.

Let's be honest, kite flying really does speak for itself. There is definitely a real technique involved and you have my full admiration if you are a professional kite flyer. Whatever, your level of expertise, you really don't need me suggesting ways to celebrate this very self explanatory day. So happy kite flying, all.
