Summer Sunshine - The Downside
Yes I know, it's not actually summer yet and nor will it be for another month, but someone forgot to send the memo to Mother Nature and frankly, that is just fine with me.
And yet, there is a problem with the sun raising it's beautiful head and shining upon us. No, it's not the heat, nor the risk of sunburn; you just slather on the sunscreen and hide in the shade. Nor is it the pesky bugs that like to take a nibble out of you. No it is far, far worse than that, at least it is for many of us ladies.

Celebrating Wednesday's #25
Hello and welcome back to our little celebration corner of the blog. Today is going to be just a little bit different. I had planned to give this segment a miss this week, mainly because I really wasn't too keen on any of the days that are being celebrated. However, in light of recent events, I feel there is something that is important and truly worthy of celebration...
A Special Friend
I was talking to D yesterday, or rather 'Whatsapping' him, as you do, and the conversation we were having reminded me of a certain friend that a much younger Miss. L had. This friend was very important to her and was almost always around; rarely was there a time when we were without said friend. However, as the years passed, that little friend gradually spent less time with us and eventually didn't visit anymore.

It's Mine!
Oh little orange me is such a handsome boy. Me do love to look at the pictures mummy takes of me and see just how handsome I is. Me is also a very important little boy. I am the bestest doggy in the whole widest world, me know because my peoples are always telling me.
This weekend me not have my girls at home, so mummy took me to see nanny and grandad. Little orange me loves going to see them because them spoil me lots...me still not so keen on Winnie though. Me not really sure why her is still there. Mummy says it's because Winnie is nanny and grandad's little orange doggy, but me should be the only orange doggy. Still, me is trying super hard to be nice to her and to play with her, but me is not going to let her think her own the house, just because her live there. Oh no!

Little Dragonfly
Dragonflies. They're so pretty aren't they, and I get so excited when I see one buzz past on a warm, sunny day. However, they are so much more than just pretty. They're pretty darn good predators, and given that one thing they like to munch on is the pesky mosquito, I am definitely promoting them to top of my favourite insects list (or at least I would, if I had one).
They also hold great symbolic meaning for many people, two of which are strength and change. Which leads us very nicely on to what I've been up to, but first a wee bit of background.

Passion Fruit
Celebrating Wednesday's #24
Hurrah! It's Wednesday again which means we're on the downhill journey to the weekend! It also means we can have our little midweek celebration, just because, no excuse needed. I'm going to be honest with you here, and please do keep it amongst ourselves, no wagging tongues...but this week, well it was all a little uninspiring. However, thanks to my love of all things cake, I had to go with our chosen topic...

Weekend Drinking?
Now before we get started here, may I make quite clear that all weekend, the only drink to pass my lips was a small glass of White Zinfandel with a large lunch, and very nice it was too. I was driving the rest of the weekend, so that was any further drinking well and truly off the menu for me, because as we established in last week's post Going 'Out' Out, I am a total lightweight!

The General Election - A Dog's View
Sorry, I am kind of hijacking Max's page a bit here, but last week my polling card arrived and his reaction to it made me think that I should really be asking him some questions about his view of the upcoming General Election. So with the help of a few other people, I've put together a handful of questions. Please bear with us, I've no idea how this is going to go, he can be a little fickle at times.

Why I Struggle With Faith
Years ago, I could never have envisioned sitting down and writing a post like this and the reason I am writing it now, is people have asked me about my faith (or not, as the case may be). Turn the clock back and I was totally committed and involved in my church. I read my Bible daily and used Bible Study notes. I only listened to Christian worship music and I only socialised with people from church (because that's really healthy - not). I had no doubts, I had no questions. This was my life and this was my supportive church family, people who would always be there for me.

Celebrating Wednesday's #23
Welcome back to our Celebrating Wednesday's segment. Once again, there was a wealth of topics to choose from today and all of them very interesting. However, the one I settled on was chosen purely for nostalgic reasons and because for some reason I find the subject of this week's topic really rather romantic.

Going 'Out' Out
Get me, a full-time mum going 'out' out! Let's face it, once our little cherubs arrive, the days and particularly the nights out, become less and less frequent; in part because all our friends are also parents and finding a babysitter is like trying to find a needle in a haystack, and partly (or should that be largely) because we're too darned knackered to go out after a day looking after the kids. However, my girls are not so little anymore, and they spend every other weekend with their dad, so when the opportunity to go 'out' out arose, I grabbed it with both hands.

Celebrating Wednesday's #22
Yes believe it or not, it is indeed Wednesday again. I don't know about you, but whilst I love a bank holiday, they play havoc with the rest of the week. Since Easter, I've not had a clue what day it is, but I am assured that today is indeed Wednesday, and so here I am with this week's celebration.
So get yourself ready to celebrate...

A New Path
What can I say? Life is good, right now. Not that it wasn't before, you understand, but right now it's particularly good and I am loving the new path I'm on. More's the point, I couldn't have asked for a better person to travel this new path with. I'd never intended to meet and start dating someone quite so soon, but sometimes, just sometimes things happen for a reason and meeting D has had a huge impact on me.
