Happy Days Part 1

Oh my goodness, lovely readers, I am so happy after having the most amazing weekend. Tired, but happy. It has been a super busy, but fun weekend. Get me, two busy, fun filled weekends in a row; is that even allowed for parents? I have a tendency to rebel against rules on occasion, so if it's not allowed I've just broken another rule. Oops!

Anyhow, back to the weekend (and trust me, I wish I could go back, it was awesome). D and I already had plans for Saturday and Sunday, so I'd arranged to swap weekends with the girls dad so that he had them this weekend. As it turns out he really only had Miss. D, as Miss. L was on her Year 6 adventure weekend away, which incidentally she enjoyed; mostly she enjoyed the food, especially the desserts, but she had fun with most of the activities too and is now officially shattered.

Oh dear, did you notice what I did there? Went off on a tangent again. Apologies, dear readers, I really do appreciate you bearing with me, I know I'm guilty of digressing rather a lot.

So the weekend was already going to be quite busy, but midweek, Friday got booked up too as the boys (trb.rocks) got a last minute gig, following a cancellation by another band. Being child free, I decided to go along and make the most of being able to have a night out, it would be incredibly impolite not to.

Apologies for using an old photo, all will become clear and it's a jolly good excuse!

Friday was all a bit of a rush, starting with making sure Miss. L had everything with her for the weekend away, that was a task and a half, I can tell you; then a day working and an unexpected, but very welcome visit from friends. So by the time the evening rolled around I was, quite frankly relieved to be going out and just a little bit surprised that I was actually ready.

We arrived at the pub and the boys unloaded and set up whilst I got drinks (obviously not with my money 😉), then found myself a nice quiet spot to hopefully hide away and enjoy the music. Note to my friends, next time I invite you to a gig, would at least one of you bloody well come, because being a lone female in a pub makes it impossible to hide! It's as though drunken men have a radar, they just make a beeline for you and whilst it is amusing and believe me, I am a pro at handling such situation (I am super good at what I like to call, 'peopling' or should that be, 'peopleing'?) I would much prefer to have a friend with me to help out. It helps that the drummer is my boyfriend, but he's not much help when he's playing, he's got too much else to do. Anyway, as you may have guessed, I got accosted by a couple of drunks trying to impress me with their dancing. It was very amusing, but they did kind of get in the way of me being able to watch the boys. Highlight of the evening though, was between sets and one of the drunks telling me (in front of D who had joined us) that he had only just met me and wanted to sleep with me, not realising he's talking to my boyfriend, who is quite frankly peeing himself laughing (well that was a little daring a sentence for this blog, almost x-rated in comparison to what normally gets written; fear not, it's not going to turn into 'that' kind of a blog).

Saturday arrived and part of the day was spent stripping wallpaper at D's house and buying paint. I need to decorate my house too, but he is clearly much more motivated on that front than I, and I would hazard a guess, a darn sight better at it too. In the afternoon, Max went for a sleepover with his Cocker Spaniel friends, Shadow and Puzzles, whilst D and I met with a group of his friends in a local Weatherspoons.

Oh my goodness, did you know, you can download an app for Weatherspoons and you never, I mean never have to go to the bar! All your drinks and food just magically appear. Now I know how Aladdin felt when he found that lamp, mind you he didn't have to worry about working out how much he owed the person with the app. We probably needed a genie for that too.

However, we did manage to sort it out, no genie required, although Wally (or Waldo) was there. No really, there was a waiter, who truly was the spitting image of  'Where's Wally,' he just needed the stripey jumper and bobble hat. Not that it stopped D saying, 'found him!' every time he spotted the poor lad. Now I must confess, I wanted to take a photo to share with you, but apparently you're not allowed to do things like that without asking permission and it seemed a little rude to point out the likeness he shares with Wally. Anyway, it was the first time in ages, I'd been out as part of a large group, most of whom I didn't know, but I had a great time and everyone was absolutely lovely and made me feel like I'd been part of the group forever, partly helped by the fact that all the girls were huge Mulan fans, like myself. She is, in my opinion, by far the best female Disney character! It really was a fab night and I was a little sad when it ended, but we couldn't be too late because Sunday was another busy day and by far the most epic day of the weekend.

    1. Hi Talya. I like your bus description and you are spot on. You have to make the most of it when you get an opportunity to go 'out' out! I agree about the app too, could end up being very messy ;-) x

  8. Hi Lisa, don't you love the fact that you obviously still have 'it'? I'd be in the pub every night if I thought I could still pull, just because I could. Not sure what the husband would think of that though! And an app where you can place orders? Perfect!

Thank you for linking up with the #MMBC.

    1. Hehe, it is rather flattering and made more fun by the fact I'm not the least bit interested because I'm dating the seriously hot drummer they're all bopping about to :-) Oh and I've now downloaded that awesome app, but still to use it xx
