Celebrating Wednesday's #29

Hello and a very warm welcome to the middle of the week. Friday is too far away and Monday isn't far enough away. I find Wednesday a very odd day indeed. It's just a bit meh, isn't it? That's OK though because here we are to have a wee sit down with a cuppa and find out what super exciting thing we will be celebrating today.

I have a feeling, I may have been a little over enthusiastic there, building it up just a wee bit too much. That said, I am getting a bit of a warm fuzzy feeling about this week's special day. I fear you are going to think I'm crazier than I am when I tell you what it is, but perhaps, just perhaps, some of you might get it.

So today, ladies and gents, we are celebrating (I'm so excited)...

Mitten Tree Day!

I know who would have thought? Mittens, on trees. I love mittens, they remind me of cold snowy days building snowmen and playing.

So what are you supposed to do on mitten tree day? Well folks, the clue is in the name. Grab a tree and bung carefully place your mittens in a beautifully artistic way, on your tree. Like this...

OK I realise that is in fact a glove, but you get the general idea.

I've never heard of a mitten tree before. but I must admit, I rather like the idea. I'm not sure it would work in a home setting, you'd need a jolly big family with a lot of mittens they don't need, but perhaps if you work in a school or nursery, this may be something you could do this December. There must be a shed load of mittens in lost property that could be put to good use with the added bonus they may be reunited with their owner.

So let's all show some love to mittens this year, they do a jolly good job of keeping our hands nice and warm.
