Celebrating Wednesday's #35

It's Wednesday, it's the middle of the week and it's flipping cold outside. I don't know about you, but I am looking forward to Spring arriving in a few weeks. I don't mind the cold, but when it takes two hours to warm up after a twenty minute dog walk, well, need I say more?

Anyway, it is Wednesday, which means it's time to settle down with a cuppa and have a few minutes to yourself whilst we look at today's special day. If I may say so, I am just a little bit excited about today's day and I apologise for the number of photos I may use.

So without further ado, I present Wednesday's Special Day to you, which is...

...Ballet Day!

I know, I am so excited about this. I just love ballet. I don't get to go along to the ballet very often at all, but I love it. When I was a little girl I would watch the ballet on TV and was desperate to dance myself. So from the age of 3 to the age of almost 18, that's what I did. I'm 47 now and I still miss it.

So what can you do to celebrate Ballet day? Well, if you are really lucky to live in a city (particularly London) have a look and see what ballets are on today. Get along and enjoy the grace and beauty that is ballet; I won't be very jealous, honest!

If you're fighting fit and your feet and back aren't knackered, as mine are, and if you used to dance, or still do, get your ballet shoes out and dance through the day. Please exercise care if you decide to try a pirouette after almost 30 years of not dancing. I successfully completed a beautiful pirouette out of fifth, got a wee bit smug, tried out of fourth and stacked it...my tail bone was bruised for a number of days after.

Whatever you do today, stay safe, keep warm and have fun, the weekend is just around the corner.

  1. I was never fortunate enough as a child to take ballet. I was a dancer and joined the modern dance club in high school. I love watching ballet and many other forms of dance. Now I'm old and have arthritis - I must dance in my head now. #MMBC
